I’d love to see a medal count where it shows medals earned per athletes the country has participating.

Not what I meant. I meant like one where it gives each countries ratio of medals to atheletes. So something like this (note, these are totally random numbers):
USA: 15 atheletes per medal
China: 23 atheletes per medal
Fiji: 5 atheletes per medal

Hey lets take our victories while we can. You live here, you know what we’re like. When it comes to a contest of sporting achievements, we should not be this high up the table.

We got Murray later if he can deliver the goods. I was so ecstatic watching Max Whitlock make everyone his bitch.

If it helps, USA has 554 Olympians, China has 465 and GB 366. There are other teams with more athletes than China and GB but the US is the largest team.

That’s exactly the kind of info I’m interested in, but for all the countries. I’m curious if any of the smaller countries have a medal rate approaching or above 50%

Must be a small island, Aruba has a gold. Kosovo has a gold and only 8 competitors.

It’s not easily available, I’m just looking at the medal table and looking at the teams on Wikipedia. In between watching team GB clean up in cycling, of course.

That would be hard on countries that focus on team events, versus something like swimming where one guy is eligible for 4

For sure. Actually I found another way that might solve the issue of some atheletes getting multiple medals and team medals being counted as one even though there were multiple people involved. I googled “fiji olympic team 2016" and got this:
One could count the total atheletes, and the number of athletes with medals, and get a true medal-winning athlete percentage. This of course skews the stats in favor of the team sport countries instead of against, but I don’t know of a way for it not to be one way or the other.

you can, why do you think Hitler hosted it and was using it to promote aryan superiority? He failed and America won then too.

Take aways from this:
-The Dutch really like the letter Z.
-The Zwedes will nonetheless be happy to be above Denemarken.
Other trivia: Zweden, a country which doesn’t use either Z or W, refers to Zwitserland as Schweiz, the German name.

Yeah, well Canada has a 16yo that is outperforming expectations in swimming. Also an olympic first back-to-back gold in trampoline.
